The School of Industrial Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology is looking for a number of PhD candidates in the area of Operations Management. The group Operations, Planning, Accounting and Control (OPAC) conducts research in the area of Operations Management, with specific emphasis on
- Planning and Control in Manufacturing, Services, and Supply Chains;
- Distribution Logistics;
- Maintenance and Reliability;
- Finance and Accounting, oriented towards operational processes.
Research is generally quantitative in nature, while many of the researchers also engage in empirical research. All research is embedded in Beta, the KNAW-recognized research school for Operations Management & Logistics.
Tasks
The PostDoc researcher will work on a project in the area of Supply Chain Finance. The PostDoc researcher is expected to do research and write research papers within this field, as well as work with the companies in the project consortium. Funding of the position has not yet been formalized, but is expected to materialize within the next weeks.

Requirements
For the PostDoc researcher position, the applicant should have completed (or be close to completion of) a PhD degree in industrial engineering, econometrics, logistics, finance, and/or operations management, with a solid background in quantitative, statistical and/or econometric research methods. The candidate’s file should demonstrate evidence of the ability to interact with industry and/or policy makers, since this is a key part of the project.

- gross salary is in the range of €33.201 - €52.404 per annum (on a full-time basis), this includes 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end of year allowance. Salary depends on experience and knowledge;

- for foreign staff, it is possible to apply for a tax break of max. 30% on your salary from the Dutch tax office (the TU/e will help you with the application). This is only for staff who has never previously worked in The Netherlands.
