The Department of Energy Technology is an expanding department covering most fields of Energy Technology ranging from electrical energy (Power Systems, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines) to thermal energy including Energy Systems and Fluid Mechanics and Combustion but also mechatronic systems. Job description
 Modeling of GaN semiconductor components for PA design
The stipend is related to the research project "CTIF-global program for wireless and mobile innovation" which is financed by Vækstforum Nordjylland.
This PhD project deals with large-signal nonlinear characterization and modeling tools for Gallium Nitride (GaN) III-V semiconductor components used in high-power amplifier applications. This is an area in which the semiconductor industry is currently investing and actively looking for tools to mature and better understand its advanced technologies. Ultimately, better characterization and modeling tools may lead to improved semiconductor performance and to faster-to-market amplifier designs. The project will make use of and further enhance already state-of-the-art large-signal network analyzer tools as well as compact and system level behavioral modeling methodologies. The project is a joint activity between Aalborg University (Technology Platforms Section) and Agilent Technologies.

Chinese Government Scholarship Program for Postgraduate Studies 2011


I. Basic Information and Duration of the Scholarships
1. Number of scholarship students to be admitted: 30
2. Coverage of the scholarship:
- Tuition and fees for registration, laboratory experiments, internship, basic learning materials, and intramural accommodation;
- Living allowance:  CNY 2,000 per month for doctoral students; CNY 1,700 per month for master’s degree students;
- Fees for outpatient medical services and Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China;
- A one-off settlement subsidy for new students after registration: CNY 1,500 per person.
