University: Aalborg University (AAU) - Denmark At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Biotechnology, Chemistry and Environmental Engineering a position as Associate Professor in Filtration Science is open for appointment from June 1, 2011 or soon hereafter. Job description The Department of Biotechnology, Chemistry and Environmental Engineering consists of five sections. The Sections of Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Environmental Engineering are situated in Aalborg, the Section of Sustainable Biotechnology in Ballerup, and the Section of Chemical Engineering in Esbjerg. The Department wishes to strengthen its activities within the use of filtration processes in biological reactors. This may involve fundamental descriptions of filtration processes, optimizing and trouble shooting of existing processes by establishing links between feed characteristics and process characteristics and development of new processes e.g. within biorefineries. Teaching will primarily be directed towards bachelor and candidate students of Chemistry at the department, but may also be offered to other study programmes at the University. Qualification requirements:  The level of qualification for Associate Professors shall correspond to the level, which can be achieved on the basis of the appointment as Assistant Professor, but may be achievable in other ways. The appointment presupposes that the applicant can demonstrate original scientific production at an international level as well as documented teaching qualifications. Appointment to the position requires that both research and teaching qualifications are at the requested level. The two qualifications will be given equal and principal priority in the overall assessment.
