The research group Activity and Context Recognition Technologies (ACTLab, www.actlab.ele.tue.nl) within the Signal Processing Systems section of TU Eindhoven invites talented candidates to apply, who have obtained their doctorate. The positions are fully funded, some through prestigious Marie Curie fellowships. Research topics are in artificial intelligence, signal processing, machine learning, with applications in personal healthcare, energy-efficient buildings, and smart environments that respond to occupant behaviour.
Tasks
The position is expected to identify and investigate new research areas in the field of Activity Recognition and Ubiquitous Computing. Main tasks include:
- Managing one or more collaborative research projects.
- Apply for research funding at national and European agencies.
- Collaborate with research partners and establish new partnerships.
- Develop research strategies and support the research team (PhD students).
- Take responsibility for internal activities and the efficient running of the Lab.
Requirements
Successful candidates will have a strong background in one or more of the following fields, through their PhD studies and previous project experience (with decreasing priority): artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, control theory, biomedical engineering. Experience in analysis (e.g. Matlab) and programming tools (e.g. Python, C++) are highly relevant. Electronic design expertise is beneficial.
Appointment
Positions are initially limited to two years with the option for extension. The daily communication language of the group is English.
