Job description
The research will be performed within the research group ‘Organic and Nanostructured Electronic Materials’ of the Institute for Materials Research in the framework of the IWT-SBO-project ’New silicon materials for solar applications (SilaSol)”. This project is a joint project between IMO, imec, KU-Leuven, Universiteit Antwerpen and Universiteit Gent. The candidate will focus the research on the development of novel optical and photoelectrical sensing principles applied to advanced characterization of a future generation of Si-based solar cells. Emphasis will be on the physics of nanoscale using Si nanowires. The candidate has access to state-of-the-art techniques and works within a stimulating and multidisciplinary environment.
Profile and diploma
PhD degree (or equivalent) in physics, materials science, nanotechnology, electronic engineering, or physical chemistry. A background in the field mentioned ( solar cells, optical and electrical characterisation) in the job description will be considered a plus.
