Research scientist - mathematical modeling, numerical analysis and software development
The Department:We employ a number of very experienced and highly qualified scientists within drilling & well technology. We cooperate closely with oil companies, industry and universities inside and outside Norway. Our research is directed towards drilling, completion, well intervention, and production operations. Our activities include modeling of the processes, tests in real wells with data analysis, development of real time interpretation methods, and advanced process monitoring and control systems for drilling and well construction. We also perform advanced technical services for oil companies.
Qualifications:We seek researchers (Ph.D, Dr.Ing., Dr.Scient., M.Sc, Cand.Scient., Siv.Ing,) with background from mathematics, physics, cybernetics, IT and/or petroleum technology. Good competence from one or more of the following areas will be an advantage:

- development of diagnosis and analysis systems for real time optimization of drilling and well operations
- development of automatic control systems, e.g. managed pressure drilling
- integrated Drilling & Well Operations Research (IO in Drilling)
- development of integrated systems that combine mathematical models, real time data monitoring, automatic diagnosis/advisory, and 3D visualization
- analysis of data from laboratory and field tests
- project management of single- and multi-client projects
