We are now looking for a new team member who will, in the first instance, participate in the department’s interdisciplinary educational and research environment within the field of human rights. Work at the School focuses on the central issues concerning the implementation of human rights in various sectors of society, both nationally and internationally. The primary responsibilities of the successful applicant will be teaching courses on the programme at undergraduate and post-graduate level. Duties may also include teaching free-standing courses and commissioned courses. Broad competence within the field of human rights as a political, ethical and juridical topic of study is of particular interest, as is knowledge and experience of the implementation of human rights in practice. The applicant should be able to teach, supervise and conduct examinations in both Swedish and English. Particular weight will be given to previous experience of educational or research management. The applicant is expected to hold the title of Associate Professor in a social science discipline or equivalent and to have a demonstrated ability to cooperate with others.
According to Swedish Higher Education regulations, applicants qualified for this position are those who hold a PhD or equivalent, have undergone training in university pedagogy or have in some other way acquired equivalent pedagogical knowledge and have demonstrated pedagogical skills.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria for pedagogical training may initially be offered temporary employment (1 + 1 year) until such time as this requirement has been met, after which the temporary terms of employment will be exchanged for a permanent contract.
During the selection procedure, applicants may be called for interview and asked to deliver a sample lecture. In interview, the applicant will be given an opportunity to describe and develop their own views of teaching and research in this subject and in relation to their role at the department.

A maximum of 10 scientific publications and 10 teaching texts authored by the applicant may be cited in support of the application. Copies of the cited works should be submitted within three weeks of the final application date. In addition to the applicant’s list of published works, the application should include a list specifying which of these are to be submitted within the stated three weeks. The applicant should also retain two further copies of each submitted publication to be sent later, when the faculty informs the applicant of the addresses of the expert evaluators.
